An itchy ear is the most irritating problem people will often face. Though this is a common problem among people, they neglect it and carry on their works until it gets worse. It keeps you from focusing on anything and sucks like hell. So, here we are going to tell you some home remedies to cure itchy ears. You can just choose any one of them which is easy and suitable for you. Before knowing remedies for itchy ears, let’s know the reasons for it first!

Causes of Itchy Ears:

·         Ear infections
·         Ear dryness
·         Water getting into the ears
·         Intrusive ear cleaning
·         Over-usage of headphones
·         Ear canal dermatitis

Home Remedies for Itchy Ears:

·         If water has entered your ears, tilt the side of your head with the affected ear and try to create a vacuum using your finger. Later, use a cotton cloth to clean the discharge.
·         If you have clogged water in the middle ear, close your mouth and then your nostrils tightly using your fingers, and breathe deeply. Now, blow out the air of your nose to regulate the air pressure.
·         Put 2 to 3 drops of warm olive oil into the affected ear and let it sit in your ear for a minute or two. Now, come to the normal position. It works well when you have ear wax as it cleans your ear canal and removes itch in your ear.
·         Mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide (3%) and water. After a minute, your ear wax will come out. Remove it with cotton neatly.
·         Mix equal parts of white vinegar and rubbing alcohol in a bowl. Mix it and fill an ear dropper with this solution. Put 2 to 3 drops into the ear. Wait for 2 minutes and tilt your head. You can see ear wax coming out of your ear. Clean it with a cotton cloth or a cotton ball.
·         If you have acne in the ear, then the warm compress works. Soak a clean cloth in warm water and squeeze out. Now, apply the warm compress on the ear for 5 minutes. You can do this 2 to 3 times in a day to get relief from itchy ears.
·         If the reason behind your itchy ears is a trapped fluid and internal ear dampness, a blow dryer can help you. Hold a blow dryer about 10 to 12 inches away from your ear and set it to warm. Now, turn on the dryer and direct it towards the ear canal. Hold the dryer for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Preventive Tips:

We have heard in our childhood that prevention is better than cure. So, though you don’t have itchy ears now, taking care of your ear health will avoid the problem in future too. Let’s know how we can avoid itchy ears.
1.       Use your earphones or headphones in limits.
2.       Clean your ears immediately when water entered into your ears and dry them.
3.       While applying hair dyes, put cotton balls into your ears to avoid the dye flowing into them.

Note: If you have a serious ear problem for a long time which cannot be solved with home remedies, consult a doctor.
